Parenting is hard. Parenting through a pandemic is unprecedented.
Our children can bring us the highest of highs the lowest of lows all in the same day. Parenting can be beautiful and frustrating and awe-inspiring and challenging , even in the best of times.
But we are not in the best of times right now—we are in the midst of a global pandemic that is creating untold ripples in our lives and forcing us to manage our daily existence in new and unexpected ways.
Many of us have been asked to work from home; many of us are worried about our livelihoods; and many of us have to continue heading into the workforce even when we’re afraid to because of the critical roles we play in keeping business and society running.
And through all of this we still have to parent.
Day after day as I have scrolled social media, I’ve seen parents that are scared, frustrated, and who never planned on being shut in their homes indefinitely with their partners and children. Parents who don’t feel equipped to play teacher, nurse, playmate, and confidante—all while trying to keep their home, and often their career, still moving forward in an unprecedented way.
And I was left wondering WHAT CAN I DO?
THE SUPPORT SUMMIT is my answer. I have pulled together some of the top names in parenting, most hailing from the Pacific Northwest near the epicenter of the epidemic.
